Berrymead Gardens and foot patrol work |

We had a positive meeting with a couple of members of staff at Emmaus House this morning, which was attended by PC Loveday and several residents. It was generally positive and I am of the firm belief that they now fully understand the community needs to see action. We were assured that action will follow. They have committed to having shutters in place with in the next 3-4 weeks. They will no longer leave the light on making it less positive and encouraging. We also had a commitment from them to review cctv and ban those who are identified as dealing/causing issues outside the centre. PC Loveday has provided them with the number for his mobile so if they are banning people I can assist them in enforcing that.
We have done more patrols today and PC Cooper and PC Wheeler have been out with me. And we did find a male who we believe was dealing. PC Loveday detained him for a Sec23 Drugs search and though he had £600 on him he didn't have any drugs. PC Cooper has issued him a Communtiy Protection Warning and we spoke to him about the existential threat he poses to the project at Emmaus. I believe he has taken this seriously but time will tell.
We have also spent a lot of time on the Mount, the car park and in Billington Mews.
27 Kings Street.
I owe you an apology. I had thought you were complaining about the entrance and small communal area where the front stairs are. I had no idea the big gates right next to that even existed. PC Cooper has now shown me the doors and the big communal area. I have been in there today and will be closely monitoring this area as part of my patrols from now on.
